Walking Cricket

Enjoying Cricket at Your Own Pace

At Guernsey Cricket, we are committed to making cricket accessible and enjoyable for everyone,
regardless of age, fitness or previous playing experience.

Walking Cricket is a slower-paced, adapted version of the traditional game, designed particularly for older adults, those returning to physical activity and anyone who would prefer a less physically demanding form of cricket.

Played with modified rules that replace running with walking, the game retains the essential
elements of batting, bowling and fielding while placing greater emphasis on enjoyment, participation and teamwork.

Walking Cricket offers an excellent opportunity to remain physically active, improve coordination and mobility, make new friends and enjoy the social benefits of being part of a cricketing community. No previous cricket experience is necessary.

Exploring Walking Cricket in Guernsey
Guernsey Cricket is currently researching the possibility of introducing Walking Cricket to the Island as part of our expanding Social & Community Cricket programme.

We believe this could provide an exciting new opportunity for Islanders to enjoy cricket in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment, with the emphasis firmly on participation rather than competition.

We would welcome expressions of interest from individuals, community groups and organisations who might be interested in participating, volunteering or supporting the development of this initiative.

Anyone wishing to register their interest or learn more is invited to contact Guernsey Cricket:
