The Mourant Guernsey Junior Cricket Leagues provide an exciting, inclusive and structured
opportunity for young cricketers to develop their skills, enjoy competitive cricket and build
friendships in a welcoming and supportive environment. 

Proudly sponsored by Mourant, the leagues form an important part of Guernsey Cricket’s junior
development pathway, helping boys and girls progress from introductory cricket programmes
towards more competitive cricket and, ultimately, representative opportunities.

The competitions are organised into two divisions, the Green League and Yellow League, with teams carefully balanced to ensure enjoyable and competitive matches. The emphasis is firmly on participation, enjoyment, teamwork and development, with every player encouraged to contribute through batting, bowling and fielding.

Celebrating the 2026 Season
The 2026 season was a tremendous success, demonstrating the growing enthusiasm for junior cricket across the island.

2026 Season Highlights
115 young cricketers participated across the competitions
8 teams competed in the Green and Yellow Leagues
36 matches were played across five cricket venues
15 girls registered as part of a dedicated all-girls team, the Lynx, marking an important step
forward for girls’ cricket
16 coaches and volunteers supported the programme
No matches were cancelled due to rain, allowing a full programme of cricket to be enjoyed

The season culminated in an exciting Finals Day at KGV, celebrating the achievements of all
participating teams and providing a fitting conclusion to a highly successful competition.

The final tournament placings were

Tigers – Champions
Pumas – Runners-up
Lions – Third place
Jaguars – Fourth place

While congratulations go to the winning teams, the greatest success of the season was the
enthusiasm, sportsmanship and development demonstrated by all the young players involved.

As Guernsey Cricket celebrates its Centenary in 2027, we are committed to building on the success of the Mourant Junior Leagues, encouraging even greater participation, particularly amongst girls, and developing further opportunities for young cricketers across the island.
Our ambition is simple: more young people playing more cricket, more often, while developing a lifelong enjoyment of the game.
