A stunning new film produced by Olly Tracey of On Screen Creations has captured the excitement, atmosphere and unforgettable memories of the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier, hosted in Guernsey in July 2026.
The film provides a wonderful reminder of what was an extraordinary occasion for Guernsey Cricket and the island as a whole, showcasing the very best of international youth cricket against the backdrop of Guernsey’s beautiful scenery and outstanding cricket facilities.
Bringing together eight European nations, the tournament saw some of the continent’s most promising young cricketers compete for progression towards the 2028 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Played between 22 and 31 July, the event brought international cricket to four of Guernsey’s leading grounds, KGV, College Field, Memorial Field and Port Soif, and provided a tremendous showcase for the island.
Olly’s exceptional film brings all of this to life.
From the intensity of competition and the celebrations on the field to the camaraderie between teams, the enthusiasm of supporters and the magnificent surroundings, the film perfectly captures the spirit of the tournament.
It is much more than a sporting highlights package. It tells the story of a special international event and provides a lasting visual record of what was achieved.
The quality of the filming and production is outstanding, and Guernsey Cricket is enormously grateful to Olly for creating something that everyone involved can look back on with considerable pride.
As Guernsey Cricket looks ahead to its centenary celebrations in 2027, the tournament represents an important milestone in the continuing development of the sport on the island.
It demonstrated what can be achieved through collaboration, ambition and a shared enthusiasm for cricket.
It also reinforced our belief that Guernsey, with its outstanding grounds, beautiful surroundings and strong cricketing community, has the potential to become an increasingly important destination for international cricket and sports tourism.
The film will form part of the lasting legacy of the tournament, providing a wonderful record of the occasion and helping us showcase Guernsey Cricket to future players, supporters, sponsors and international partners.
Guernsey Cricket Chief Operating Officer Richard Headington commented:
“I am immensely proud of what we achieved in hosting this tournament. It was a tremendous occasion for Guernsey Cricket and demonstrated just how much our island has to offer the international cricket community. Carl Brooks, Jordy Gallienne and the entire organising team deserve enormous credit for delivering such an exceptional event. Olly has produced a truly fantastic film which captures not only the quality of the cricket but also the atmosphere, enthusiasm and sheer enjoyment of the occasion. It is something we can all be very proud of and a wonderful legacy as we approach our centenary year.
I would encourage everyone, whether they follow cricket or not, to watch it. It really does show Guernsey at its very best.”
